PARC-EXTENSION is a critical inquiry grounded in everyday rituals. While the play takes place in the working-class, immigrant, predominantly South Asian neighbourhood of Parc-Extension in Montréal, it examines and challenges the speaker’s relationship to space. The piece, created out of a walking somatic ritual that occurred over several months, explores notions of belonging, race, gentrification, memory, grief and isolation.
